Carolina Canoe Club Haw River Cleanup: March 15

When: Saturday, March 15
Time: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Where: Haw River in Bynum, NC

Meeting Place: Haw River Assembly headquarters, 647 Bynum Road, Bynum N.C.

DIRECTIONS:

• From north of Bynum: Take US-15-501 south from Chapel Hill to SR 1713. Turn left & go a mile until you reach downtown Bynum. HRA is on the right. If you pass the Ruritan Club, you've gone too far. If you go even farther, the road ends at the pedestrian bridge across the river.

• From south of Bynum: Take 15-501 north from Pittsboro, go across Haw River & take SR 1713. Turn right & go a mile until you reach downtown Bynum. HRA is on right. If you pass Ruritan Club, you've gone too far. If you go even farther, road ends at pedestrian bridge across river.

The Haw River Assembly's annual river cleanup will be held Saturday, March 15. Paddlers are needed to reach areas on the river that land-based crews cannot reach, such as islands and wood piles that tend to capture debris.

If you have a tandem canoe, please sign up and bring it!!

Also, let me know which section of the Haw you'd like to work on: Upper, Middle, Lower. Last year we fielded teams on all three sections. With the high water we had in the fall, there will be plenty of trash for everyone to collect.

HRA and CCC will provide all bags, gloves and snacks for volunteers.
